Through the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, the state aims to provide clean and affordable rental accommodations. The scheme will offer short-term rental housing options for those who prefer not to purchase a home. It is particularly focused on urban migrants and gig workers who require flexible living arrangements.
Pilot Project in Sonipat
A pilot project has been launched in various sectors of Sonipat, wherein approximately 1,600 flats will be rented out at concessional rates for a span of 25 years. This project will function through a transparent system to ensure that deserving candidates receive the benefits.
Budget Allocation for Housing Development
The Chief Minister announced an increase in allocation to Rs 2444.27 crore for the ‘Housing for All’ scheme in the financial year 2025-26. This marks a substantial improvement from the Rs 605.30 crore allocated in the previous year.
