Action Against Delay in House Building under PMAY Bihar

Many beneficiaries in Marona block of Supaul who have accepted the first installment but have not commenced building their homes under PM Awas Yojana are now facing strict action. Block Development Officer (BDO) Rachna Bharati has directed these beneficiaries through official notices to start construction immediately. Failure to do so within a one week deadline may lead to recovery of the amount already disbursed.

BDO Rachna Bharati visited several panchayats including Marona South, Ghoghraria, and Sisauni to inspect progress and motivate beneficiaries to move forward with their house construction swiftly.

Instructions to Beneficiaries and Staff for Prompt Progress

According to the BDO, some beneficiaries took over a month after receiving the first installment yet have not begun building their houses. To address this, white notices have been issued giving a final opportunity to start construction.

In addition, officials and field staff have been instructed to regularly visit beneficiary locations and encourage quicker construction. These staff members will also face strict penalties in case of negligence in their duties related to PMAY.

Ongoing Awareness and Support Efforts

The block office is conducting continual awareness campaigns to educate beneficiaries about the importance of timely house construction under the scheme. Beneficiaries facing any difficulties related to second installments or other scheme-related issues are encouraged to contact officials for support.

This active monitoring and follow-up by administration aims to ensure that PMAY beneficiaries receive their promised homes without unnecessary delays.
