Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) is set to introduce three new residential schemes to improve housing and urban infrastructure in Udaipur. These schemes include significant development initiatives like constructing wide roads of 80 to 100 feet, enhancing parking facilities near iconic landmarks such as the Bohra Ganeshji Temple, and upgrading public amenities in surrounding areas.

Key Features of UDA Residential Schemes in Udaipur

New Roads and Connectivity Enhancement

The centerpiece of development is the Amberi area, where roads spanning 80 to 100 feet will be constructed to handle increasing traffic efficiently. UDA is also targeting accident-prone zones, such as Balicha Chauraha, to build overbridges and reduce mishaps.

Other road projects include expanding internal roads in South Expansion Plan’s B & C blocks and constructing new master-planned roads like the 100-foot road connecting Mega Housing Scheme to NH 27.

Parking Facilities Improvement Near Temples

Recognizing the need for adequate vehicle parking, UDA is devising plans for a dedicated parking zone near Bohra Ganeshji Temple on land managed by Devasthan Department. This will help manage the increasing visitor inflow and reduce traffic congestion around the temple area.

Development of Peripheral Villages

UDA oversees 136 revenue villages surrounding Udaipur, for which a budget of 20 crore rupees has been allocated. Projects will focus on improving connectivity, developing cremation grounds, sports fields, and enhancing roads linking these villages.

Other Major City Development Projects

  • Navratna Complex area’s sewerage network work, with a budget provision of 7 crore rupees.
  • Widening and renovation of Ayard Bridge between Pratapnagar and Balicha, funded with 7.5 crore rupees.
  • Railway under-bridge constructions in Udaipur city, Nokha, and Umarada allocated 6 crore rupees for road widening.
  • Transformation of Ramgiri Hill in Badgaon into an oxygen hub and tourist spot with a budget of 2 crore rupees.
  • Peripheral development of Fatehsagar Lake including pathway construction, road strengthening, and utility shifting with 3 crore rupees. Nehru Park on Fatehsagar will soon be opened to the public.
  • Plans in place to eliminate bottlenecks near Nagda Restaurant within one and a half months.

Beautification and Entry Gate Construction

UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain confirmed development of artistic and welcoming entry gates at main city entry points to enhance Udaipur’s urban beauty and positively impact tourist perception year-round. Entry points like Gogunda to Badgaon Kavita Marg and Nathdwara to Amberi will feature these gates with a total budget of 4 crore rupees. Additionally, 1 crore rupees is earmarked for mural and art installations across the city.

Financial Planning and Budget Allocation

For the financial year 2025-26, UDA has allocated a total budget of 669.42 crore rupees for developmental projects, part of a larger expenditure plan amounting to 931.66 crore rupees, balancing income and outgoing funds. Of this, 316.94 crore rupees fund ongoing projects nearing completion, and 352.48 crore rupees are dedicated to newly proposed schemes.

Summary of Decisions and Authorities Involved

The decisions regarding these schemes and funds have been made in the UDA’s general meeting, chaired by UDA Chairman & Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kaleramani, in presence of District Collector Namit Mehta and UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain.
