Telangana government has announced the distribution of new ration cards under the Telangana Food Security Scheme starting July 14, 2025. The initiative is expected to benefit lakhs of eligible residents across the state.
According to official sources, the new ration cards will provide access to subsidized food grains and essential commodities for economically weaker sections. The state government has streamlined the application process, and beneficiaries can now easily check the status of their ration card applications online.
Who Can Benefit from the Telangana Food Security Scheme?
The new ration cards will be given to eligible people in Telangana to support food security and other entitlements under the government’s scheme. Around 2.4 lakh new ration cards will be distributed, helping about 11.3 lakh people across the state. With this, the total number of ration cards in Telangana will increase to 94 lakh, supporting around 3.14 crore beneficiaries in total.
When Will the New Ration Cards Be Distributed?
The Telangana government has officially set July 14, 2025, as the date to start handing out the new ration cards. The official ceremony will be held in Tungaturthi village in Suryapet district and will be attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. State Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy confirmed this launch, highlighting the importance of reaching many deserving beneficiaries through this scheme.
How to Check Your Telangana New Ration Card Status Online
To help applicants track their new ration card applications, the state government has provided an online portal. Here are the simple steps to check your status:
- Go to the official Telangana Food Security website: https://epds.telangana.gov.in/FoodSecurityAct/
- Click on the FSC Search option on the homepage.
- From the options, select Ration Card Search.
- Choose the search type from the dropdown: FSC Search, FSC Application Search, or Status of Rejected Ration Card Search.
- To check your application status, select FSC Application Search.
- You’ll see the MeeSeva Application Search window. Select your district from the list.
- Enter your service number or application number carefully and click on Search.
- Your ration card application status will appear on the screen.
What Your Ration Card Application Status Means
After checking your application online, you may see different status messages:
- Approved: Your new ration card application has been accepted and your card will be issued soon.
- Pending: Your application is still being reviewed, and no final decision has been made yet.
If your status says Approved, congratulations! You will soon start receiving the benefits of the scheme. If it says Pending, you just need to wait a little longer as your application is still being processed.
