Great news for senior citizens in Haryana! The Saini government has announced a new scheme that provides free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh annually for individuals aged 70 years and above. This initiative is designed to support the elderly and ensure their access to healthcare services without any financial burden.

Since the launch of this scheme in October 2024, approximately 8,043 elderly residents have benefited from free treatment, totaling around ₹16 crores in healthcare expenses. This is a significant step towards enhancing the health security of our senior citizens.

Eligibility and Benefits

Eligible senior citizens can avail of this treatment without any charges, ensuring they receive necessary medical care promptly. Additionally, the government extends similar support under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which also facilitates healthcare to economically weaker families by covering medical expenses up to ₹5 lakh.

Further Healthcare Initiatives

Besides this scheme, there is also a program for families with an annual income between ₹1.80 lakh to ₹3 lakh. For an annual contribution of just ₹1,500, they get access to treatment benefits. So far, 18.80 lakh people have benefited from over ₹2,494 crores worth of medical services.

Moreover, as part of the electoral manifesto, starting October 18, 2024, all kidney patients will receive free dialysis across the state.

This healthcare service is accessible in Haryana’s 20 districts and is also available in specific medical colleges including Karnal, Nuh, Rohtak, and Agroha.
