Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced a remarkable increase in the saving bond amount under the Lado Protsahan Yojana. This initiative aims to enhance financial support for girls born into economically weaker families. The saving bond amount has been raised from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh. This move is intended to uplift and empower women across the state.

Addressing an audience during a state-level women’s felicitation ceremony on International Women’s Day, CM Sharma stressed the vital role of women in the overall development of India and Rajasthan. He emphasized their essential contributions in various fields such as politics, arts, education, and sports. The Chief Minister underlined the need for collective efforts to support marginalized women and integrate them into mainstream society.

Women: The Pillars of Society

During his speech, Sharma commended women as embodiments of sacrifice, resilience, and compassion. He quoted ancient teachings that highlight the prosperity of a society that honors its women. On this occasion, he also mentioned that the Prime Minister had handed over his social media accounts to celebrate the power of women, known as Nari Shakti.

Sharma highlighted key government initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women, including:

  • Toilets: Constructed in every household to uphold women’s dignity.
  • Ujjwala Yojana: Provided LPG connections to ensure safe cooking.
  • LPG Cylinder Subsidy: Current prices set at Rs 450.
  • Nari Shakti Vandan Act: Ensured 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies.

Furthermore, various schemes such as the Lakhpati Didi Scheme have benefited over three lakh women through financial assistance. Initiatives like the Matrivandan Scheme and wage increases for Anganwadi workers have also received attention, demonstrating the state’s commitment to women’s welfare.

Additionally, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari pointed out the increased participation of women in various sectors, including entrepreneurship, arts, and media. She noted that acknowledging and promoting women’s decision-making abilities is crucial for the progress of families, communities, and the nation as a whole.

The Rajasthan government remains steadfast in its support for women’s empowerment and plans to launch more initiatives focused on enhancing their contributions across different sectors of society.
