Natural Farming Subsidy Initiative for Farmers in Haryana

Haryana government is offering significant subsidies and bonuses to farmers under their Natural Farming initiatives. The scheme includes incentives on agricultural equipment and natural practices aimed at increasing incomes.

  • Farmers can benefit from 50% to 80% subsidy on agricultural equipment and natural farming practices.
  • Financial incentives are provided for managing crop residue and promoting sustainable farming methods.
  • Government bonuses on wheat and paddy procurement will enhance farmer incomes.

Haryana government’s support for farmers continues with innovative schemes aimed at increasing their income and making agriculture a profitable venture. Natural farming, FPOs, agricultural mechanization, crop residue management, and agro-tourism are part of these transformative initiatives.

1. Encouragement for Natural Farming

The government promotes Natural Farming practices to enhance soil fertility and product quality. Farmers adopting this sustainable method are eligible for incentives:

  • A single domestic cow purchase can yield a subsidy of ₹25,000, with plans to increase this to ₹30,000 per cow.
  • Training centers in Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sirsa, and Mangi are providing lessons on modern, sustainable farming techniques.

2. Agricultural Mechanization and Subsidies

To simplify farming activities and boost productivity, agriculture mechanization is being promoted:

  • Farmers can access subsidies of 50% to 80% on various agricultural tools.
  • A total of 1,00,882 agricultural implements have already been distributed.
  • Equipment includes innovative tools such as Super Straw Management Systems, Happy Seeders, Super Seeders, balers, and paddy straw choppers.

3. Crop Residue Management and Financial Assistance

The government is tackling pollution from burning crop residue by raising awareness and providing financial aid:

  • Per acre incentive of ₹1,000 is provided for managing rice straw.
  • Under “Mera Pani, Meri Virasat” scheme, a subsidy of up to ₹7,000 per acre is available for diversifying crops.
  • Farmers using Direct Seeding of Rice methods receive ₹4,000 per acre.
  • Villages in red zones can get incentives up to ₹1,00,000 for stopping the burning of straw.

4. Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Agro-Tourism

The government aims to link farmers with FPOs to ensure fair prices for their products:

  • Farmers connected to FPOs directly benefit from government schemes.
  • Agro-tourism initiatives are being developed to boost rural tourism and provide additional income to farmers.

Bonus on Wheat and Paddy Procurement

Recently, Haryana government announced a bonus on wheat procurement for the Rabi marketing year 2025-26. Farmers will receive:

  • ₹175 per quintal as bonus on wheat, with the purchase price fixed at ₹2,600 per quintal.
  • Paddy sellers in the Kharif marketing season 2024 will receive an incentive of ₹4,000 per hectare.
