MP Budget 2025 for Farmers: In a significant move for farmers, the government of Madhya Pradesh has announced that the upcoming budget will provide an additional financial support of ₹6,000 alongside the existing PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. This decision aims to enhance the income of farmers and ensure their welfare.

Enhanced Financial Support for Farmers

As part of the MP Budget 2025, Finance Minister Jagdish Devrda highlighted the government’s commitment to improving farmers’ livelihoods. With the existing PM Kisan Scheme allocating ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers, Madhya Pradesh’s government has pledged the same amount again from its own budget. Therefore, farmers will now receive a combined aid of ₹12,000 annually.

This initiative involves a substantial budget allocation of ₹5,220 crores under the Chief Minister’s Farmer Welfare Scheme. Furthermore, farmers engaged in limited cropping can benefit from newly introduced incentives to explore diverse agricultural practices, promoting ecological balance.

Additional Budget Provisions

Madhya Pradesh has outlined several significant provisions aimed at bolstering agriculture:

  • Power Savings: Continuation of relief on electricity bills for agriculture, benefiting approximately 37 lakh farmers, allocated ₹19,208 crores.
  • Crop Insurance: Under the Prime Minister Fasal Bima Yojana, a total payment of ₹29,555 crores has already been disbursed for around 2.42 crore claims, with an allocation of ₹2,000 crores for the coming financial year.

Innovative Initiatives for Sustainable Agriculture

In his budget speech, Finance Minister Jagdish Devrda also introduced plans for distributing solar pumps to farmers to assist in irrigation, thereby enhancing their agricultural productivity while ensuring energy savings. The PM Krishak Mitra Surya Scheme will receive ₹447 crores to facilitate affordable energy access to farmers.

This initiative is part of the government’s broader vision for sustainability and efficiency in farming, which aims to promote a backward and forward link to infrastructure and services crucial for a thriving agricultural sector.

Zero Waste Budget Approach

Minister Jagdish Devrda emphasized the introduction of a zero waste budget for the financial year 2025-26, aimed at maximizing resources efficiently while minimizing wasteful expenditures. This strategy aligns with the state’s focus on sustainable development.

Madhya Pradesh’s budget reflects a dedicated effort to transform the agricultural landscape through innovation, financial support, and sustainable practices.
