Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana: A Step Towards Empowerment

Aiming to promote the independence and mobility of college-going girls, the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana was officially launched by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. The initiative kicked off with a symbolic Scooty distribution event held at the Rabindra Shata Varshiki Bhawan.

Distribution of Scootys: Event Highlights

During the launch event, a total of fifteen girl students from government colleges were presented with Scootys, along with the necessary documentation and helmets. Initially, it was planned to distribute Scootys to 140 students; however, the number of recipients was finalized at fifteen from the 2023-2024 Higher Secondary batch.

Empowering Young Women

In his address, Chief Minister Dr. Saha stated that this distribution marks the beginning of a broader initiative under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana. He reassured that the scheme aims to gradually include all college girls in the educational framework, empowering them towards self-sufficiency.

Dr. Saha highlighted, “Our priority is to empower women and girls, with multiple initiatives already underway. This program is part of our commitment to creating a supportive environment for women in education and beyond. We will also take strong measures to prevent crimes against women, ensuring they lead safe and prosperous lives.”

Dr. Saha’s message reflects a sustained focus on women’s safety and empowerment in a society striving for equality.

Future Aspirations of the Scheme

Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana is designed to offer mobility solutions for girls in education, thus enhancing their ability to access educational institutions and other opportunities effectively. As more students are brought into the fold of this scheme, the vision behind this initiative is clear: to foster independence and create pathways for academic and personal growth, allowing women to thrive within their communities.
