Programs Supporting Farmers in Assam

Along with this subsidy, Assam has started several programs to help farmers before the Kharif season. One key campaign is the “Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan”, launched in Dhubri in partnership with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Earlier this year, Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, handed out farm machinery including 15 tractors, 18 power tillers, power weeders, and paddy threshers to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Dhemaji during the ITDP program.
