One-Time Special Relief Scheme for Flood-Affected Bar Associations has been started by the Bar Council of India Advocates Welfare Committee to help bar associations in Punjab and Haryana affected by recent floods. This scheme offers financial support to repair infrastructure and promote environmental restoration through tree planting. If you belong to a bar association in these states, this scheme gives important help to recover from flood damage and support green cover restoration.
This scheme is made especially for bar associations in Punjab and Haryana that have been damaged by flooding, heavy rainfall, or water logging. Eligible groups include both district-level and sub-divisional bar associations. The scheme gives financial grants to help fix chambers, libraries, furniture, electrical equipment, and other key infrastructure needed for the smooth running of bar rooms and facilities.

Financial Help to Repair Infrastructure
Under this scheme, affected district-level bar associations can get a one-time grant of up to Rs 2,00,000. Sub-divisional bar associations can get a one-time grant of up to Rs 1,00,000. These grants are non-refundable and are sent directly to the bank accounts of the eligible bar associations. The money is meant to quickly restore normal operations by fixing flood-related damage.
Special Grants for Environmental Restoration
Understanding the big loss of trees and green cover caused by the floods, the scheme also gives extra funds just for tree planting and care. Each district bar association can get up to Rs 10,000, while each sub-divisional bar association can get up to Rs 5,000 for this. These grants have no conditions but must be used only for planting and taking care of trees to make sure they grow well over the years.
How the Scheme is Managed and Monitored
The tree planting and use of funds will be managed together by the member of the State Bar Council from the area along with the president and Executive Committee of the related Bar Association. This team will watch over the work and make sure the funds are used well for both fixing infrastructure and restoring the environment.
This One-Time Special Relief Scheme shows the dedication of the Bar Council of India and the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana to support the legal community during tough times. If your bar association has been affected by floods, make sure to check if you qualify and apply for this helpful support to rebuild and help create a greener environment.
