Along with this, the Orunodoi Plus pilot scheme will add an extra LPG subsidy, making support for households stronger than before.
Details of Orunodoi 3.0 Launch in Assam
To celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the start of Orunodoi 3.0 on September 17. This phase plans to cover 40 lakh beneficiaries, including 6 lakh from the Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD). This will build on earlier phases, with improved ways to verify beneficiaries and communicate with them.
Coverage Expansion and Beneficiary Integration
Orunodoi 3.0 widens its reach by including more households, growing from 28 lakh beneficiaries during Orunodoi 2.0. Each beneficiary will now be linked with Aadhaar, making benefit delivery clear and smooth. Local elected panchayat leaders and district officials will visit beneficiaries in August to give them official letters and detailed booklets explaining the scheme’s benefits and steps.
Orunodoi Plus Pilot Scheme Explained
To provide more help for household needs, the Orunodoi Plus pilot scheme has been started. This new scheme adds an extra
250 monthly subsidy for beneficiaries who buy LPG cylinders, raising the total benefit to
1250 per month. It aims to reduce fuel costs and encourage safe cooking fuel use among beneficiaries.
Eligibility and Application Support for Orunodoi Plus
All current Orunodoi beneficiaries buying LPG cylinders can get this extra benefit. Along with official materials, beneficiary households will also get application forms for new LPG connections, making it simpler to get the subsidy and switch to clean cooking fuel. The pilot scheme will run for four months: January, February, March, and April.
These schemes show the Assam government
commitment to improve financial support and provide important services to households for better living standards. If you live in Assam and qualify as a beneficiary, watch for visits from local representatives in August to get your booklet and letter, and get ready to benefit from Orunodoi 3.0 and Orunodoi Plus from September onwards.
