Families without any permanent housing, particularly those from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), will receive priority for assistance. Beneficiaries from the middle and lower-middle income groups will also qualify.
Beneficiaries can construct their homes with a financial provision of ₹1.20 lakh under this initiative. The focus of the new survey is to ensure that eligible families receive their homes between 2024-2025 and 2028-2029.
Who is Eligible?
- Only households without a house will be prioritized for the scheme.
- Those with a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) limit exceeding ₹50,000 will not qualify.
- Families owning vehicles, including three-wheelers, four-wheelers, or farming machinery, are also ineligible.
- Individuals with more than 2.5 acres of irrigated land will not qualify for benefits.
- Government employees and individuals paying income tax or business tax are also excluded from the scheme.
How to Apply
- Individuals meeting the eligibility criteria can apply through their smartphones.
- Applicants need to download the Awas Plus-2024 survey and Aadhaar Face ID app.
- Each mobile device can be used for one survey application, requiring the applicant’s Aadhaar number.
The survey process is scheduled to complete by March 31, 2025, and it’s easy for applicants to submit their information directly through the app. The responsibility for conducting the survey lies with the respective Gram Panchayat secretaries.
