The state government has set aside land near Coimbatore, specifically in Sulur and Palladam, for semiconductor equipment manufacturing parks. Each park will cover about 100 acres and focus on developing specialised machinery and tools needed for semiconductor production. Plans also include setting up a pilot fabrication unit to support the semiconductor ecosystem and encourage local manufacturing capabilities.
