Subhadra Yojana: Odisha’s Exclusive Women-Only Industrial Park Announcement

Odisha is set to empower women entrepreneurs with the announcement of a women-only industrial park. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made this declaration at the plenary session focused on women entrepreneurship during the Utkarsh Odisha, Make in Odisha Conclave, 2025.

At this event, the Chief Minister highlighted two significant initiatives:
– Establishing an industrial park designed solely for women.
– Opening a dedicated cell for women entrepreneurs at the Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL).

Majhi expressed his hope that these initiatives will encourage more women to launch their businesses independently. He also invited feedback from women leaders on enhancing female participation in the business sector.

The session aimed to craft a roadmap for the future of the Subhadra industry in Odisha. It emphasized collaboration with industry leaders to explore employment opportunities for women.

According to Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries department, the government already runs the Subhadra Yojana, which focuses on women empowerment. He further mentioned plans to connect the Subhadra Yojana with entrepreneurship to provide a robust platform for women entrepreneurs.

As part of the conclave, various plenary sessions are ongoing, covering critical sectors such as skill development, renewable energy, textiles, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, and industrial infrastructure, aiming to enhance Odisha’s economic landscape.
