Farmers in Madhya Pradesh, there’s important news for you! If you have not yet registered for wheat procurement, you need to do so quickly. The Madhya Pradesh government has set the final registration date as March 31, 2025. So far, about 10 lakh farmers have registered. This year, wheat purchases will begin on March 15 and continue until May 5, 2025. The government has set the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat at ₹2425 per quintal, along with an additional bonus of ₹175 per quintal. Thus, farmers will receive a total of ₹2600 per quintal for their produce.
Government’s Major Relief: Wheat Purchase to Start from March 15
The government originally planned to begin wheat purchases on March 1, 2025, but due to incomplete harvesting and excess moisture, it has been rescheduled to start from March 15. This year, the estimated total wheat procurement quantity is set at 80 lakh metric tons.
